The holiday season is here, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with simple, delicious, and festive dishes. On day 3 of my virtual advent calendar series, I’m sharing a fun and incredibly easy board idea: the Candy Cane Caprese Board.
This creation is as fun to make as it is to eat! Whether you’re hosting a gathering or bringing a dish to share, this board is guaranteed to impress with MINIMAL effort.
What You’ll Need:
- Fresh mozzarella, sliced
- Ripe tomatoes, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Balsamic Drizzle
- Salt and pepper, optional
How to Create It:
- Arrange the Base: On a serving board or platter, alternate slices of mozzarella and tomato in a curved pattern to mimic the shape of a candy cane.
- Add Flavor: Drizzle balsamic glaze generously over the top. You can also use olive oil.
- Season: Sprinkle with salt and freshly cracked black pepper if you want.
- Garnish: Tear fresh basil leaves and scatter them over the candy cane for a burst of color and flavor.
Tips for Serving:
- Serve with a side of crackers, a baguette, or crostini to complement the flavors.
- For an unsweetened twist, consider adding olive oil in place of the balsamic glaze.
- Want to make it ahead? Prep the mozzarella and tomatoes in advance, and assemble right before serving to keep everything fresh.
Why It Works:
The Candy Cane Caprese Board combines classic flavors everyone loves with a festive presentation that’s perfect for the holiday season. It’s a no-cook dish, so you can focus on spending time with loved ones instead of stressing in the kitchen.
This board has quickly become one of my holiday go-tos, and I hope it will become one of yours, too! Let me know if you give it a try—tag me in your photos or share your twist on the recipe. 🎄
Happy holidays and happy hosting!
